- Sin always has a social effect
Venial
sin –weakens our relationship with God
Mortal
sin – destroys our relationship with God
- 3 requirements for a sin to be mortal:
- Grave Matter
- Full Knowledge
- Sufficient Consent of the Will
Culpability
– amount of responsibility a person bears for a sin
- Good acts dispose us to doing more and greater good acts
- Evil acts dispose us to doing more and greater evil acts
